Since moving to Bangkok nine months ago, I’ve discovered that this vibrant city has a way of making you feel right at home. While it’s famous for its nightlife, there’s an abundance of family-friendly activities that cater to all ages. From cultural landmarks to delicious street food, and serene parks to thrilling adventures, Bangkok truly has something for everyone. Whether you’re navigating the hot or rainy season, you’ll find plenty to keep the kids entertained. As a parent of a spirited 14-month-old, I’ve also hosted my picky 6-year-old nephew and 8-year-old niece, so I’ve gathered my top ten must-visit spots in no particular order.
1. Art in Paradise 3D Museum
This two-story interactive gallery, the largest of its kind globally, is just outside Bangkok. Kids can take fun photos riding a flying carpet, participate in the Emperor’s coronation, or enjoy a whimsical gondola ride. Expect to spend two to three hours here, depending on how much your kids love posing for pictures!
2. Bangkok Sea Life Ocean World
Located centrally, this impressive aquarium is a feast for the eyes. If your child adores Nemo, they’ll be mesmerized by the 30,000 marine creatures on display. They can pet stingrays and even dive with sharks—an unforgettable experience for the adults too! The penguin show is a favorite among toddlers, and you can save by combining your visit with Madame Tussauds.
3. Safari World
A two-part adventure awaits here! Safari Park is a drive-through experience where you can see everything from tigers to giraffes, while Marine Park features entertaining animal shows. The close encounters with wildlife will leave a lasting impression on your little ones; just remember to stay inside your vehicle!
4. Theme-Based Restaurants
Mr. Jones’ Orphanage Cake Shop is a whimsical dining experience with a library for little ones and a carousel filled with fruit and wooden horses. While savory snacks are on the menu, the sweet treats are the real stars! Teddy House is another delightful spot where kids can indulge in pancakes and even create their own teddy bears.
5. Lumpini Park
Amid the bustling city, Lumpini Park offers a serene escape. Plan a family picnic or take a paddleboat ride, but keep an eye out for the resident monitor lizards! The park is a breath of fresh air and a great way to unwind.

An edutainment center designed for kids ages 6 and older, KidZania allows children to explore various careers and earn kidZos money. They can open a bank account and dress up in costumes for their chosen roles. Watching little firefighters put out fake fires is simply adorable!
7. Siam Park City
A huge amusement park suitable for all ages, Siam Park City features numerous rides and activities, including the world’s largest wave pool. With areas designated for younger kids, it’s an all-day adventure that the whole family will enjoy.
8. Floating Market
Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market is a local gem that’s less crowded than other touristy spots. Here, you can savor traditional Thai dishes while enjoying the unique experience of shopping from boats. The kids will love the mango and sticky rice dessert, and the prices are friendly on the wallet, making it easy to pick up souvenirs.
9. Temple Tour
No trip to Thailand is complete without visiting the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Although it may capture the attention of older kids (ages 10-14), the stunning architecture and historical significance are worth seeing. Just remember to adhere to the strict dress code—shorts are a definite no-go!
10. Asiatique The Riverfront
This open-air mall along the Chao Phraya River is the newest night market in Bangkok. Be sure to check out the Joe Louis Puppet Theatre, which blends traditional Thai puppetry with modern choreography. With over 40 restaurants to choose from, your kids will be spoiled for options. Finish the day with a ride on the ferris wheel for unbeatable skyline views.
