Guess what? I’m not pregnant! And here’s a fun fact: I won’t be pregnant again for the rest of my life. My empty womb is a deliberate choice. My husband, our daughter, and I are perfectly content as a complete family unit. Yet, despite our satisfaction, well-meaning friends and family seem to think we’re just waiting to start “Round Two.” They suggest, “How about a little brother?” or “Your daughter would love a sister!” These comments often come with a playful jab or a jovial laugh. If I happen to linger too long over a friend’s adorable baby (or, heaven forbid, ask to hold the little one), I’m often teased about having a “reproductive glow” in my eyes. Don’t even get me started on the sideways glances at my midsection or the questions that arise when I decline a glass of wine at family gatherings.
Some may wonder why this curiosity surrounds me, especially since I only have one child. Let’s unpack that idea. Celebrities like Jessica Lee, who has three kids, often find their bellies scrutinized in tabloids. “PREGNANT WITH #4: WHAT DOES HER HUSBAND THINK?” blares from the headlines as she walks in oversized jeans and a baggy shirt, sipping coffee. She can’t even enjoy a casual outing without the world speculating about her next baby bump. So, what’s a non-celebrity mom to do? With no public relations team to help deflect the questions, I’m left to navigate this curiosity on my own.
In an age where social media shows every detail of our lives, it feels like answers are expected. I’m not keen on making a Facebook post or a tweet to share my choices—too impersonal for my taste. Is it too much to ask for my body to be my own without facing a full-scale review?
So here’s a thought: we seriously need a line of “No More Baby Announcements” cards for women who are done having children—perfect for anyone from zero to 18 kids (sorry, Duggar family, you’re still counting past 19). These cards could come in stylish fonts and floral prints, offering a playful way to put an end to the speculation. Imagine a family portrait or a fabulous single lady giving a thumbs up!
Minted, Shutterfly, and Tiny Prints, take note—I’ll be the first in line to order!

In summary, I’m celebrating my choice not to have more children, embracing my current family dynamic, and wishing for a cheeky way to share that message without the constant inquiries.
