Our little fashionista greets the day in an adorable owl pajama set from the trendy Carter’s collection. However, her excitement leads to an unexpected morning shower, soaking the outfit completely.
7:03 AM
Time for a change! I swap her into a onesie featuring my alma mater’s name, but quickly reconsider—this might be too much pressure for such a little one. I then dress her in a “Diva Brat” onesie, which causes my partner, Chris, to nearly faint.
7:28 AM
Breakfast time! Just as I serve her a jar of green beans, she sneezes, resulting in a colorful mess. Next, I switch her into a bright floral t-shirt and matching leggings. Chris jokes that she looks ready for a cruise.
9:12 AM
A surprise visit from a friend prompts a quick outfit change into a pink velour tracksuit that she gifted us, albeit with a misspelled version of our daughter’s name.
10:32 AM
Once my friend leaves, I can’t help but change her back into the cruise look. The tracksuit? Into the burn pile it goes!
11:14 AM
After a mishap involving a bottle of bubbles, my toddler decides she wants to wear her old Halloween costume—Tinkerbell wings and all.
12:14 PM
Still rocking the Halloween attire.
1:14 PM
Yep, still the same.
2:02 PM
Note to self: Sharpie is a nightmare to remove from nylon.
2:28 PM
Finally wrestle off the wings and prepare her for nap time. But wait! What if she gets cold? I layer on wool pants, socks, and a hoodie.
2:40 PM
Chris chimes in that the room is a scorching 90 degrees. I promptly remove the socks.
4:00 PM
Time to get ready for a birthday party! I dress her in a cute sundress adorned with a tulle skirt and a sequined heart.
4:05 PM
Chris quips that her outfit is perfect for dancing on a Mardi Gras float. I ignore him and add some sparkly sunglasses for flair.
4:28 PM
At the party, she mistakes the Mickey Mouse cake for a cuddly toy and gives it a big hug. While she attempts to lick her sundress clean, I have no choice but to change her into the only other outfit in the diaper bag—a bathing suit.
5:46 PM
Time for a bath! I strip her down, and she’s never been happier.
7:23 PM
I finally get her into pajamas for bedtime. As I look in the mirror, I realize I’ve been wearing the same green bean-stained, bubble-splattered shirt all day.
