In a heartwarming announcement, a beloved celebrity and his husband are preparing to embrace parenthood! This year’s Pride celebration is particularly meaningful for the couple, who shared the wonderful news that they are expecting twins—a boy and a girl—via a surrogate, with the little ones set to arrive this fall.
In a comical TikTok video, the couple presented the anticipation of their children’s arrival as if it were a horror movie. The playful trailer depicted them enjoying dinner while eerie baby cries echoed throughout their home, shadowy figures of children lurking in the hallways, and culminated in the reveal of… two buns in an oven! The clever captioning included #zaddies, adding to the charm of the announcement.
While the TikTok hinted at a Halloween due date, the couple later clarified to PEOPLE that their twins will actually be born in November. This news comes after a long journey for the couple, who married in 2014 and faced numerous challenges in their quest to become parents, including nine egg donors, multiple surrogacy attempts, and unsuccessful IVF cycles. Tragically, last year, their surrogate was pregnant with twins but experienced a miscarriage.
Reflecting on their journey, the soon-to-be dads expressed their cautious optimism. “Because of what we’ve been through the last four years, we were very cautious to get excited,” one of them shared. They revealed that they had fertilized half of their retrieved eggs, resulting in two healthy embryos, paving the way for their future family.
“We always knew we wanted at least two kids,” the proud partner stated, “and it would be wonderful to have a boy and a girl to experience raising both.” They also marveled at the advancements in science that made this dream a reality, expressing hope that others will have similar opportunities in the future.
