Wood and Manson’s relationship began in 2007, when she was 19 and he was 37. The couple got engaged in 2010 but separated later that year. Wood expressed her determination to expose Manson and the industries that have enabled him, stating, “I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”
In addition to her personal experiences, Wood has been a vocal advocate for abuse survivors, having previously testified before Congress to help pass the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights in all 50 states. California state Senator Susan Rubio emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation into the allegations against Manson, stating, “If law enforcement does not do that, we will not only fail these victims, but future possible victims of this alleged perpetrator.”
