A delightful mini version of the Rosebud Motel from the beloved series Schitt’s Creek has appeared in a Seattle neighborhood, thanks to a talented superfan who brought the iconic location to life. This charming replica first gained attention when a passerby posted a photo on Reddit, prompting fans to visit the Seattle site for snapshots against their favorite backdrop.
The petite Rosebud Motel seems to have been constructed in front of a private residence, and after the image circulated online, the homeowner and creator of this charming replica stepped forward. “Hello, my name is Mark, and yes, it’s my house,” shared Mark Thompson, who resides in the Queen Anne area of Seattle. “This was a month-long project I started during COVID. To clarify the dimensions, it measures 25 feet wide and 12 feet tall. Everything is newly built except for the roof. It’s nearly an exact copy of the Rosebud Motel, minus one room from the office on the right. I just aimed to spread some joy in a rather gloomy year, and it seems to have worked!”
Mark also mentioned that he creates a replica of the Bates Motel for Halloween and encourages fans of Schitt’s Creek to visit and capture their own photos. Although this version is smaller than the original TV motel, the attention to detail, such as the tiny vending machine and an eclectic mix of chairs outside the motel rooms, really enhances its charm.
