Throughout my marriage, romance has often taken a backseat. My husband, Mike, has dedicated his life to supporting our family, leaving little time for the typical date nights. While I appreciate his efforts, his recent gift ideas—like a new slow cooker, dishware, and kitchen renovations—aren’t exactly stirring my romantic side.
This Valentine’s Day, if he were to ask what I truly desire, here’s my wishlist:
A Bounty of Flowers
I dream of an abundance of red roses brightening up our home. Picture them arranged beautifully in vases, placed high where the kids can’t reach. Or, perhaps, some elegant lilies. Better yet, a mix of both would be ideal. Just remember: keep them out of little hands’ reach.
A Day at the Spa
I would love to indulge in a pampering experience that includes a massage and a mani-pedi—pure bliss! And while we’re dreaming, a little liposuction and breast augmentation wouldn’t hurt. But if that’s too much, I’ll settle for just the spa day. And gel nails, of course; you can’t stop me there!
Dinner at a Fine Restaurant
How about treating me to that upscale restaurant we’ve been eyeing? Yes, it’s a splurge, but it’s Valentine’s Day! I’d love to indulge in an appetizer and two delightful fruity cocktails instead of our usual water.
Decadent Chocolate
If only there were gourmet, zero-calorie chocolates! But if that’s not possible, I’ll take the delicious, calorie-laden ones and maybe some new clothes to go with them. Unless someone invents that magical treat—then I’m all in!
A Touch of Jewelry
I’m not asking for anything extravagant, just something that sparkles fresh rather than dull from daily wear and tear.
Some Exciting Lingerie
Choose something that excites both of us. Buy me pieces that leave you eager to see me in them—let’s ditch the worn-out cotton for something a little more thrilling.
Mind-Blowing Intimacy
How about exploring a few toys or fun adult games? We can spice things up—handcuffs, anyone? Valentine’s Day might just be the perfect excuse to try something new, but honestly, we don’t need a reason.
Sure, these ideas may sound cliché, but there’s a reason why they are classic Valentine’s gifts. As a mother, I often feel like I miss out on the romance and allure of being courted. I wouldn’t trade my life as a mom or wife for anything, but a little passionate romance wouldn’t hurt. And with Father’s Day around the corner, maybe I should consider some classic gifts for him too!

In summary, this Valentine’s Day, I’m hoping for a blend of romance, pampering, and connection—because every mom deserves a little love and indulgence.
