It’s no secret that affluent families often send their kids off to summer camps, and naturally, they sometimes need a little assistance in getting their young adventurers ready for their fun-filled days. However, what might raise a few eyebrows is the revelation that some mothers are turning to “trunk packing” specialists, shelling out a whopping $1,000 for the task. I mean, why hand this responsibility to a nanny or a housekeeper when you can hire an expert, right?
One such packing guru, Jane Matthews of Elite Packing Services, shared with the New York Post that it takes her around three to four hours to prepare a trunk for her clients. And guess what? They are more than happy to pay for it. “I’ve had clients who were in a total panic,” Matthews told the Post. “For many moms, especially when their little ones are heading off for their first camp experience, it can be incredibly stressful. They’ll say things like, ‘I need to feel the fabric of the sheets to see if they’re soft enough.’”
This just goes to show how fortunate some families are to have extra cash to spare. If you want to explore more about the emotional rollercoaster of parenting, check out our other article on privacy policies here.
