Absolutely, You Should Consider a Third Child
I’ve come across countless articles discussing the challenges of raising three kids and advocating for the two-child family model. While I’m definitely not trying to discourage you from having a third child, I can see how those viewpoints might be interpreted that way. Recently, a reader mentioned that she was wavering on her desire for three kids because of my posts, which was never my intention! So let me clarify: I adore having three children and honestly can’t picture my life any other way.
If you’re contemplating whether to expand your family with a third child, my strong recommendation is to go for it! Sure, your life will get a lot busier, more demanding, and a bit chaotic, but it will also be overflowing with love and joy like never before. Who wouldn’t want that?
Here are 10 reasons (out of a million) why I cherish my third child:
- Instead of just giving kisses, he grabs your face with both hands and KISSES YOUR FACE OFF! When he hugs, he wraps you up completely. His love is as fierce as it gets.
- He brings out the giggles in everyone. It’s impossible to keep a straight face around little Max.
- He jumps headfirst into everything with unbridled enthusiasm (often without considering the consequences, which gives me mini heart attacks, but hey, that’s part of the fun!).
- He absolutely idolizes his older siblings.
- He’ll wiggle his way into your arms and make himself cozy there.
- He’s just happy to be along for the ride, with expectations as low as they can get.
- He has a unique style that he owns like a pro.
- He is pure sweetness, even when he’s up to some mischief.
- He made our family feel whole, despite never feeling like we were missing anything before.
- He’ll always be my baby, even long after he’s grown. I know this because he promised me, and I’m holding him to it.
