When the local police start searching for a mountain lion in your neighborhood park, you might think twice about venturing out until you’re reasonably sure you won’t end up as a midnight snack. However, some brave souls might just don a gorilla suit and stroll in anyway—go figure, right?
In Gardner, Kansas, law enforcement installed two cameras in Celebration Park after receiving several reports of a mountain lion lurking nearby. Last week, they shared some of the curious images captured on their Facebook page, and the internet erupted with enthusiasm. Comments ranged from “This is so funny!” to the ever-popular “What the heck is going on in this park at night?”
Let’s take a closer look at the images, shall we?
First up: a creature that resembles a wolf. Not exactly what you want to encounter after dark, but it’s not the end of the world.
Next, we have… well, hello there! We were on the hunt for a mountain lion, and instead, we get a long-haired pig-man? This night just got a lot weirder.
And there, peeking out from the shadows, is a person in a ghillie suit. Is he hunting mountain lions? Who knows, but he’s definitely blending in!
Oh, and look—an elderly lady with a walker and a machete! Now we’re crossing into the territory of “I can’t believe this is happening.” At least she’s got her purse secured to her walker to fend off those pesky thieves.
Is that… an intoxicated Santa? Check.
Aww, it’s just a little skunk rummaging around for snacks. Nothing to worry about there!
But wait, here’s a man in a gas mask carrying a bag. Is he collecting samples? Maybe he’s tracking down that earlier pig-man we saw.
Raccoon alert! Did you know that at my old house, the neighborhood raccoons used my crawl space as their personal bathroom? Good times.
And now we come to the pregnant werewolf. Yawn.
Honestly, I’m not a fan of how this creature is gazing at me.
Oh, great—now there are two of them. Let me tell you, if I were wandering the park at 2 AM, be it insomnia or a secret life as a serial killer, running into these two would certainly make me wish I’d stayed home.
As of today, the Gardner police haven’t released any new updates regarding these bizarre images or the elusive mountain lion. Stay quirky, Kansas!
