Is it just me, or have we officially entered the realm of absurdity with clowns chasing children? Seriously, what’s the deal? Are there secret forums where folks are planning to don clown costumes and terrify kids for kicks? The first few sightings were unsettling, but now it’s getting personal. This week, we’ve heard about two separate incidents involving clowns chasing after kids.
As a parent, I’m fed up with this bizarre trend. From South Carolina to Kentucky, creepy clown sightings are becoming alarmingly frequent. And now, we have reports out of New York and New Jersey that are downright chilling.
Incident in Syracuse, NY
In Syracuse, NY, a 10-year-old boy was walking to school when he spotted three clowns. Once they noticed him, they began to approach, prompting the terrified child to flee and call 911. He was later found hiding between two houses. Despite a description given to the police, no suspects have been identified yet. Other children have come forward with similar stories, including one who claims he was also chased. The police are taking these clown antics seriously, warning that such behavior is unacceptable and could put children at risk.
Sinister Turn in New Jersey
Now let’s move to New Jersey, where things have taken a sinister turn. In Phillipsburg, clowns are not just creepy; they’re armed. CBS New York reported that a boy named Ethan Parker encountered a clown in an alley who was wearing a white mask and brandishing what appeared to be a sword. The clown allegedly threatened, “I’m gonna getcha,” sending Ethan running home in a panic. His mom, Lisa Parker, said she had never seen her son so frightened. “He was out of breath when he got home. He said, ‘I was scared,’” she recalled.
Unfortunately, Ethan wasn’t alone in his encounter. Just last Sunday, three clowns were spotted emerging from the woods and chasing another child in the park.
A Call to Action for Parents
Parents, is anyone else ready to confront these clowns? I take self-defense classes and would relish the chance to use my skills on someone who thinks it’s funny to terrorize kids. What kind of madness is this? Even the most innocent clowns are scary enough, but a creepy one lurking in an alley or woods? That’s just pure evil and deserving of serious consequences.
We parents already juggle enough without worrying that our kids might run into these frightening figures on their way to school. Let’s hope this ridiculous trend fizzles out soon, and in the meantime, let’s keep our fingers crossed that no one gets hurt.
