Etsy shop Cheerful Stickers creates adult reward stickers, because let’s face it, being a grown-up is no walk in the park! Kids are showered with stickers everywhere they go—from school and the doctor’s office to the checkout line at their favorite store. But unless we’re donating blood or casting our votes, adults miss out on that fun sticker vibe, and honestly, it’s a bummer. Ella shared with us how her sticker shop came to be. “I accidentally launched a business. All because adulting is sooo hard.” A fellow teacher was struggling after surgery, so Ella created a thoughtful get-well gift for her. The response was overwhelmingly positive, but it was the leftover stickers that turned adults into giddy kids. “I posted some in a mom-to-mom handmade group on Facebook, and soon enough, I was getting requests from all over the country,” she said.
“Being a teacher, I understand how strangely motivating stickers can be,” she continued. “Back in the day, kids had sticker books, and it was THE coolest thing. Apparently, that excitement hasn’t faded just because we’ve grown up.” It’s true! Just knowing there’s a sticker that says, “I shaved my legs today” is motivation enough to consider picking up that razor in the shower.
Ella believes in celebrating your inner child and giving yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. “Adulting and motherhood are incredibly challenging, and sometimes we just need a little recognition for the thankless tasks we do repeatedly. Even if you’re just rewarding yourself.”
