The reality is that those who cling to outdated notions of gender and safety are often more afraid of change than they are of actual harm. Discrimination against the transgender community does not protect our children; it perpetuates a cycle of hate and misunderstanding. Teaching children that it’s acceptable to judge others based on their identity is a disservice to future generations.
If we genuinely want to protect our kids from the harsh realities of the world, we must model compassion and acceptance. By fostering an environment of understanding, we can empower our children to embrace diversity rather than fear it. Instead of using our children as an excuse to perpetuate hate, let’s raise them to be kind and open-minded individuals.
