Toddlers are like little sorcerers, casting spells of pure emotional electricity—both thrilling and daunting. It’s a wild ride, filled with daily adventures where I find myself safeguarding their little lives. The unpredictability is what makes it terrifying; you never know what’s coming next. But through it all, there’s undeniable beauty! The warmth of snuggling up with a toddler can feel like a slice of heaven, and their joyous laughter has the power to transform any atmosphere instantly.
Life with toddlers is a whirlwind, a beautiful chaos reminiscent of a Tasmanian devil spinning around. You can find yourself in a grocery store, and if you take too long to choose a flavor of Greek yogurt, watch out! Milk could very well become a projectile, followed by enthusiastic self-congratulations from the little ones.
These days, that’s just how it goes! Oh wait, it’s actually my toddlers who are breaking the cookies and hiding them in the couch cushions when I’m not paying attention. It’s still so incredibly lovely that I want to break into song! But since my 1-year-old insists on shouting “No!” every time I start to sing, I opted for a poem instead.
A to Z of Toddler Life:

- Crayons: Yup, I’ve been known to munch on crayons.
- Dog: I give my dog open-mouth kisses.
- Eat: Snacks? I could munch all day long.
- Fire trucks: Fire trucks make me squeal with joy!
- Go! I yell “Go!” at my mom while she’s trying to do her makeup in the car.
- Happy: If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands!
- Ironic: It’s ironic how I fight sleep when I’m totally exhausted.
- Jam: I love to have dance parties and jam with my mom.
- Kraft: Kraft Macaroni & Cheese is the ultimate comfort food.
- Learn: Playing is my favorite way to learn.
- Mickey Mouse: Mickey Mouse is my favorite obsession.
- NO: Just NO to everything.
- Outside: Everything is way more fun outside.
- Pacifier: I’m planning to take my pacifier to college.
- Question: My go-to question is “Why?”
- Rash: Diaper rash? No thanks!
- Seat: I stash secret snacks in my car seat.
- Tubby: The tubby is my bubble paradise.
- Up! When I shout “up!”, please pick me up and carry me like royalty.
- Very: I really like bouncy houses Very much.
- Wail: If I don’t get a popsicle at 6 a.m. like I asked, I will wail.
- X: An X marks the treasure spot, obviously.
- You: I need you, Mom.
- Zzzz… That’s the sound of bedtime. So please, don’t laugh and wake my little one. If you do, I might just come to your house and give you a wedgie!
