I can hardly believe my daughter just turned 13 last month. It feels surreal to think how quickly we’ve arrived at this stage. One moment, I was celebrating her first steps, and now she’s rolling her eyes at me, claiming I “hate her and think she’s fat and ugly.” Ah, the joys of parenting!

11. I’m discovering hidden talents, like eliciting 25 distinct moods from my daughter in under five seconds.
12. I’m picking up a new language, one that consists of eye rolls, door slams, foot stomps, and deep sighs, forming an entire conversation on its own.
13. My heart swells with pride every day. Despite the challenges, she brings me immense joy.

In all seriousness, she’s an incredible kid, and I love her more than anything. I’m sure that in a few years, when she’s okay with being seen with me, she’ll hug me and express her love in return.
