As I belted out the catchy tune “Venus” by Bananarama during a drive, my daughter’s voice interrupted from the backseat, “Why are you singing about… um, you know?”
I paused mid-chorus, taken aback. “What do you mean, sweetie?”
She innocently asked, “Isn’t it about privates? That sounds wrong!”

It’s a challenge to release your own expectations and be flexible enough to appreciate your child’s individuality while adjusting your approach. However, motherhood is just as much about personal growth as it is about nurturing your children.
Eventually, you’ll come to understand that you are the expert.
