Welcome to the Home Insemination Kit advice column, where our team addresses your questions about life, love, body image, friendships, parenting, and more.
This week, many are feeling insecure about their bodies as summer and swimsuit season approach, especially after gaining weight during the pandemic.
Dear Home Insemination Kit,
Over the past year, I’ve put on nearly 30 pounds. While I know many have experienced similar changes and that it’s nothing to be ashamed of, I can’t shake off my self-consciousness. With summer right around the corner and most of my friends and family vaccinated, I’m anxious about reuniting and them noticing my body transformation. My sister-in-law has already pointed out my weight gain and is pushing me to join her exercise boot camp and try her MLM diet food, which only adds to my dread of summer and social gatherings. Is it okay if I just hide away and avoid everyone?
Sincerely,
Feeling Anxious
