A third individual has come forward with allegations of sexual harassment against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, as reported by The New York Times. This development follows claims from two other women who have accused the governor of similar misconduct.
Anna Ruch, who met Cuomo at a wedding in 2019, recounted her experience to the Times. After thanking him for his toast to the newlyweds, she says he placed his hand on her bare lower back. When she removed his hand, he then grabbed her face and labeled her “aggressive.” Ruch described how Cuomo asked if he could kiss her as he moved closer, prompting her to pull away. “I was so confused and shocked and embarrassed,” Ruch stated, with a friend confirming the incident. She expressed anger over feeling powerless in that moment, highlighting the troubling nature of his physical dominance. “Even when I tried to remove his hand, it didn’t seem enough,” she lamented.

Charlotte Bennett, a 25-year-old former staff member, alleged that Cuomo discussed his interest in dating younger women. Lindsey Boylan, another former aide, accused him of kissing her in his office in 2018 and shared her experiences in an essay on Medium, including an invitation to play strip poker on a government plane.
This latest claim from Ruch coincides with the announcement from Attorney General Letitia James, who stated that Cuomo’s office has authorized an independent investigation into the allegations.
A spokesperson for Cuomo referred to a prior statement in which he apologized for what he termed “misunderstandings” regarding his behavior, denying the initial two accusations. Bennett expressed feeling intimidated by Cuomo’s advances, revealing, “I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me, and was scared about how to navigate the situation.”
