In a heartfelt two-part series of Instagram posts, Ryan Jensen, Lady Gaga’s dog caretaker, shares the harrowing details of a recent attack that left him injured and resulted in the kidnapping of the singer’s beloved dogs. Although the pets have been safely returned, Jensen is currently on the mend in the hospital and bravely recounts his experience from that fateful day.

“Just four days ago, as a vehicle sped away and blood flowed from my gunshot wound, a small angel approached and lay beside me. My panicked cries subsided as I focused on her, even as I realized that the blood pooling around her delicate body was my own,” Jensen wrote, detailing the incident from February 24, 2021.

He shared the emotional moment of waiting for help while cradling Asia, the only one of Gaga’s three dogs he was walking at the time who wasn’t taken by the assailant. “I held Asia close, thanking her for all the adventures we shared, apologizing for not being able to protect her brothers, and promising to fight for their safety… and my own,” he expressed.

The other two dogs, Koji and Gustav, were kidnapped during the attack but were later returned to Gaga after she posted a $500,000 reward appeal on Instagram.

Jensen continued, “I felt hopeful that my calm yet urgent requests for medical assistance, along with detailed descriptions of the dogs, would help me and attract the necessary police and media attention to find the boys. I glanced back at my guardian angel, smiling at her trembling form, grateful that at least she was safe.”

In a follow-up post, Jensen expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received throughout this terrifying ordeal. “I am still recovering from a very close call with death, and while I’ve tried to stay away from the media frenzy (I’m only human), the love I feel from around the world is immense,” he mentioned. He also acknowledged the crucial role that police attention played in reuniting Koji and Gustav with Gaga, expressing appreciation for their continued efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.

He thanked friends, family, and clients for lifting his spirits during recovery, stating, “The dog videos and photos from my clients have been miraculous in keeping me positive. Seeing their joy when they mention my name inspires me to keep pushing through so I can play with them again soon.” Jensen also expressed deep gratitude to the first responders and healthcare workers who saved his life, adding, “You literally helped me through the darkest time, and I can’t thank you enough.” To Gaga, he said, “Your fur babies are safe, and our family is whole again… we did it!”

He concluded with hopes of reuniting with the dogs soon, eagerly anticipating the moment when he is welcomed back with kisses and excitement from Asia, Koji, and Gustav.
