Mandy Moore and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, are overjoyed to announce the arrival of their baby boy, August Harrison Goldsmith, affectionately nicknamed Gus. The couple shared the delightful news via Instagram, celebrating Gus’s timely arrival on his due date.
Moore expressed her gratitude, writing, “Gus is here! Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to our delight. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.”
This news comes after Moore had shared on social media that her initial birthing plans had to be adjusted due to health concerns during her pregnancy. In a recent episode of the Informed Pregnancy Podcast, she discussed her desire for a home birth and how she had to adapt her plans. “I got it, absolutely. I am malleable, I’m going to do whatever it takes for this baby,” she reflected, acknowledging the emotional journey of transitioning her birth plan.
Moore first announced her pregnancy in September 2020, sharing her excitement about the little things that come with expecting a child. “I was online buying pacifiers yesterday and I just turned to my husband and I was like, It’s real. There’s going to be a little human that needs a pacifier,” she said.
As the couple revels in their new parenthood, Moore hinted at the possibility of expanding their family further in the future. “I have such a deeper appreciation for my body and the fact that us pregnant folks have the capability to do this. It’s the coolest thing,” she shared.
