People are finally celebrating Kathryn Hahn for the incredible talent she is.
Before diving in, just a heads-up: there are spoilers for WandaVision ahead! If you haven’t caught the latest episode, make sure to watch it first.
Whether you’re among the millions who have contributed to WandaVision‘s impressive view count of over 6.5 million on Disney+ and are just now discovering the brilliant Kathryn Hahn (who plays the inquisitive neighbor, Agnes), or you’ve been a devoted fan of her extensive filmography from the start, the moment has arrived: Kathryn Hahn Appreciation Day.
On Friday, fans took to Twitter to express their admiration for Hahn’s extraordinary talent, which has long been overlooked. She may very well be one of the most underrated actresses in the industry. Thanks to her role in WandaVision, which has garnered millions of views, she is attracting a larger fanbase, many of whom consider her to be the standout star of the Marvel series—and possibly even the finest actor in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. (We agree!)
As revealed in the recent episode, “Breaking the Fourth Wall,” Hahn’s character, Agnes, is actually the Marvel villain Agatha Harkness.
The accolades for Hahn kept pouring in. Since Episode 1, she has excelled as Agnes—now known as Agatha. Her portrayal of a 1950s and 60s housewife was outstanding. She was delightful as the quirky, “innocent” companion to Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda, and she left us stunned during her scene with Vision when she was “trapped” in her car at a stop sign. What range!
When we witnessed the big reveal? Wow, we were blown away. That unforgettable laugh still echoes in our minds.
“I can confidently say there are so many layers that people won’t anticipate,” Hahn shared with TVLine. “I’m thrilled for fans—and newcomers—to embark on this journey. It’s a truly multi-dimensional experience, and I can’t wait for everyone to join in.”
The tweets honoring Hahn also acknowledged the powerful women featured in WandaVision, including Olsen and Teyonah Parris.
But Hahn’s brilliance extends beyond WandaVision. Remember her breakout role in Step Brothers as the eccentric wife of Adam Scott’s character? Or her hilarious, scene-stealing turn in Bad Moms? Hahn has also shone as a leading lady in projects like I Love Dick on Prime, Private Life on Netflix, and Mrs. Fletcher on HBO Max. And let’s not forget her role in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
As Vulture aptly stated, “the Hahnaissance is upon us”—and we couldn’t be more excited.
