Mr. Horn Moron’s Organic Food Request Has Been Apparently Granted

Jacob Chansley was very, very upset about not receiving organic food while incarcerated.
For many, the image of Jacob Chansley—often referred to as the horned moron, dressed in a Halloween-themed interpretation of Leonardo DiCaprio’s outfit from The Revenant—is indelibly etched in our memories due to the Capitol insurrection on January 6. You may also recall that Mr. Chansley was quite disappointed that the federal prison he was in didn’t serve organic food. And in a twist of fate that often seems to favor white men in trouble, Chansley has since been relocated to a different facility.
The self-proclaimed “QAnon Shaman,” Chansley was moved to the Alexandria Detention Center after his attorney argued that his client had gone nine days without eating because the initial jail did not provide organic options. A judge subsequently ruled that corrections officials must accommodate Chansley’s dietary preferences. Sigh.
It appears that Chansley—who reportedly lost 20 pounds during his time without organic food—considers this diet to be integral to his “shamanic belief system,” according to his lawyer, Albert Watkins. It’s quite something to see a violent individual, who has positioned himself as a “shaman” for a group that believes celebrities are engaging in horrendous acts, claim religious treatment.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth noted that the District of Columbia Department of Corrections had requested Chansley’s transfer because they were unable to fulfill the order to provide organic meals, but a nearby facility could indeed meet his demands for a diet free from fertilizer and pesticides—though it wouldn’t alter the food’s nutritional content.
Chansley faces charges including civil disorder, obstruction, and disorderly conduct related to his actions during the Capitol riot. He had stated he came to the Capitol “at the request of the president that all ‘patriots’ come to D.C. on January 6,” according to TODAY.
During Chansley’s initial court appearance, his mother, Martha Chansley, expressed her unwavering support for her son, who was involved in a plot against the former vice president and other members of Congress. “He gets very sick if he doesn’t eat organic food – literally will get physically sick,” Martha Chansley stated at the time.
Thanks for that, Martha. Great job.
Raise your hand if you’re “physically sick” of individuals like Chansley receiving preferential treatment while many innocent people of color languish in prison for non-violent offenses. Here’s hoping we don’t hear from this character for a long time.
