I have to confess: I’m not into adult content—really, I promise! I’ve never splurged on those premium channels, even when staying at a hotel, and my laptop history is entirely family-friendly. Why indulge in traditional adult entertainment when you can dive into a much more thrilling (and completely suitable for all audiences) version for free?
Just flip to channel 665 (that’s HGTV in HD, at least on my TV) and you’ll see what I mean. You’ll be entranced by stunning soapstone island countertops, sleek subway tile backsplashes, charming eclectic floor designs in inviting entryways, and meticulously crafted shoe racks in walk-in closets that outshine even the most organized spaces. Don’t even get me started on those closets—I could rave about them for hours. I simply can’t get enough!
Late-night binge-watching sessions find me glued to the screen, wondering if the adorable family of three (soon to be four, with a little one on the way!) will choose to Love It or List It. I’m usually rooting for the “love it” option. Who wouldn’t be amazed by the transformation of a dreary basement into a jaw-dropping game room, stylish office, guest room, and full bath? Seriously, it’s like magic!
Then there are the Property Brothers, who effortlessly turn a dated 1970s Cape Cod fixer-upper into a dream home for a young couple eager to stay close to the city while accommodating their pets, a yoga space, and a music room—all within a budget that could barely cover a new HVAC system for me. The speed at which they work is comparable to the time it took me to finally clean out my garage last spring—no small feat!
While I might not always agree with every design choice made by my favorite HGTV stars, I remain completely captivated by their stunning creations. Sure, media rooms and three-car garages don’t particularly excite me, but I totally respect that someone else might find joy in that.
I know I’m not alone in this obsession. A recent girls’ night with my college friends led to an entertaining discussion about our latest late-night viewing habits. Some of my friends introduced me to new guilty pleasures like Rehab Addict and Fixer Upper—have you seen the incredible fireplace transformations that the Addict accomplishes? Unbelievable!
I recognize that I could be spending my time on more productive activities, but there are certainly worse ways to unwind. So for now, I’ll continue to indulge in these delightful shows until the House Hunters find that perfect bungalow, conveniently located near the water and park, and of course, well within their budget. That works just fine for me.

In summary, I may not be a fan of traditional adult content, but my passion for home design shows on HGTV knows no bounds. Whether it’s a stunning renovation or a clever organization hack, I’m all in—enjoying every moment of this delightful obsession!
