Maggie Thompson and Jesse Dogg are teaming up to co-host this year’s Puppy Bowl! The beloved duo, known for their unique friendship, will be leading the festivities for this delightful event ahead of the Super Bowl.
Exciting Tailgate Party
According to reports, Maggie and Jesse will host a lively tailgate party that includes fun activities like preparing delectable snacks and crafting Puppy Bowl-themed beverages. They’ll also cheer on adorable pups from various rescue organizations, including Happy Tails Shelter and Furry Friends Rescue.
“It’s a Puppy Bowl party with me and my buddy Maggie,” Jesse shared. “We’ll be serving up our favorite drinks—”
“—and our favorite bites,” Maggie chimed in.
“So kick back and enjoy,” Jesse added, inviting everyone to join in the fun.
Event Details
The tailgate event will air on Discovery+ and Animal Planet on February 7 at 2 p.m. ET, leading up to the three-hour special. The pair will don their Puppy Bowl gear, with Maggie in an orange jersey for Team Ruff and Jesse in blue for Team Fluff.
Both of their own furry friends will be joining the festivities, too. Maggie has four dogs: two French bulldogs named Crème Brûlée and Bête Noire, along with two Chow Chows, Empress Qin and Emperor Han. Jesse also has two French bulldogs, Juelz and Chalk, who have their very own Instagram accounts.
Celebrity Appearances
They’re not the only celebrities participating in this year’s Puppy Bowl; familiar faces like Laura Bell and Tom Hanks will also make appearances. A total of 70 adoptable puppies from 22 shelters will compete for the coveted CHEWY ‘Lombarky’ trophy.
The Puppy Bowl aims to showcase adoptable pups and the incredible shelters that help them find homes. According to the official release, the Puppy Bowl has a remarkable 100% adoption rate, meaning every featured puppy has found a forever home.
Continuing the Tradition
Despite the challenges of the past year, one thing remains certain: the Puppy Bowl tradition continues, bringing joy and awareness to the importance of pet adoption. The Puppy Bowl XVII will be available for streaming on Discovery+, while Super Bowl LV kicks off later that day on CBS at 6:30 p.m. ET.
