Get ready, because ‘Queer Eye’ is making its triumphant return on Netflix on June 5, 2020! After a whirlwind of seasons, the beloved Fab Five is back, and this time they’re heading to Philadelphia. While I’ve been a huge fan of the show and adore the guys, I must admit, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the rapid release of four seasons (plus the delightful Japan special) in such a short time. There simply weren’t enough hours to keep up with all the heartwarming transformations, right?

Yet, amid these challenging times marked by a global pandemic, I find myself craving uplifting and heartfelt content — and that’s exactly what ‘Queer Eye’ delivers. The good news is that Antoni, Bobby, Jonathan, Karamo, and Tan are returning for Season 5 with an unprecedented ten episodes.

The show teased its fans on Twitter: “This Gayflower couldn’t hit land soon enough! Who’s ready for the season of brotherly love?!?! Grab your oars and an absorbent box of tissues because Queer Eye Season 5 is arriving in Philly, June 5th!”

While the trailer hasn’t dropped yet, Antoni hinted to Entertainment Weekly that this season will embrace a wider range of stories and backgrounds compared to previous installments, which predominantly showcased experiences from the outskirts of Atlanta. “We’re able to continue to champion diversity,” he shared. “With Philadelphia, it’s a lot more cosmopolitan… you kind of get to speak to that experience. There’s always an incredible amount of diversity in cities like that, leading to very different stories and perspectives.”

Although I’ve enjoyed Antoni’s Instagram cooking lessons during quarantine, nothing can replace the genuine emotions and production quality of ‘Queer Eye.’ I find myself eagerly anticipating those moments when Jonathan whispers self-care advice to someone learning to take care of themselves for the first time. Just three more weeks until we dive back into the transformation magic of ‘Queer Eye’!
