Chris Thompson recently made waves on TikTok by joining his teenage daughter, Mia, for a side-splitting dance video. After overcoming his battle with the novel coronavirus, the CNN anchor is embracing a lighter side during these challenging times. Known as the brother of the New York State Governor, Chris charmingly interrupts Mia’s well-rehearsed dance routine with some delightfully goofy dad moves that are sure to make any parent proud.
In the video shared on the platform, Mia kicks off her performance to a trending mash-up featuring hits from Megan Thee Stallion, Rihanna, and Kesha. Just as she gets into her groove, her dad cheekily jumps into the frame, shaking his hips and inadvertently stealing the spotlight. Mia can’t help but laugh at her father’s antics as he showcases his unique dance style, complete with playful footwork and plenty of enthusiasm.
In addition to Mia, Chris shares his life with three other children and his wife, Laura. Their family has been candid about their experiences during the pandemic, having faced the virus together. Chris first announced his positive COVID-19 test on March 31 and later revealed that his wife and son had also contracted the virus. Thankfully, by late April, he was able to share that he had tested negative and had developed antibodies, although questions about immunity remain.
“I’m lucky to have tested negative and have both short-term and long-term antibodies,” Chris stated. “But what does that really mean for my immunity? There’s still a lot of uncertainty out there.”
