When Taylor Swift speaks, the world pays attention. It got me thinking: if she ever decides to step away from music, she could launch a small business called Swift Solutions. Alright, I’m still refining the name, but imagine her as a professional problem solver—a “fixer,” if you will. I’d be the first in line to book her services.
Here’s a list of the annoyances and injustices in my life that I’d gladly pay T. Swift to tackle for me:
- Getting my kids to put on their darn shoes within the 90-minute window before school starts. Seriously, how hard can it be?!
- Explaining to my mother, in a gentle way, that 9:30 p.m. is the only moment of peace I’ve had in the last 24 hours, and it’s not the best time for a chat. (No, Mom, this isn’t about you; it’s about me!)
- Convincing my partner that, just maybe, Tom Brady was aware of the deflated footballs so he’ll stop ranting about some grand NFL conspiracy.
- Threatening to place a dome over South Carolina until they take down that Confederate flag—immediately.
- Reducing the astronomical costs of summer camp, or at least bridging the gap between the zero attendance required for kids in summer and the full-time work schedule of parents.
- Stopping the crazy fast growth of toddler fingernails and the foot bacteria of my third grader. Why do they both need attention at the same time?
- Putting an end to the misery of all-in-one printers and their ridiculously tiny toner cartridges. Honestly, it feels like a conspiracy. Where are the whistleblowers?
- Advocating for paid paternity leave for dads and, while we’re at it, paid maternity leave for moms too.
- Managing the photo clutter on my phone so I can snap a quick picture of my daughter in that adorable outfit from her aunt. By the time I clear enough space, my daughter has already started crying and throwing her ice cream on the ground, ruining that cute moment. Guess I’ll have to resort to a handwritten thank-you note after all.
That about sums it up! And who knows, if Taylor has any extra energy left after fixing all of this, she might as well run for office—I’d vote for her!
