In a delightful twist on the typical birthday party theme, little Mia Thompson has chosen the horror film The Nun to celebrate her third birthday. In a post that captured the internet’s attention, Mia’s mom, Sarah Thompson, shared photos of her daughter dressed as Valak, the terrifying nun from the film. “When your daughter turns 3 and picks The Nun as her favorite character, you just roll with it,” Sarah wrote on Facebook. “Her happiness is what matters most!”
For those who may not know, The Nun is a horror flick that stems from The Conjuring 2, featuring a priest and a novice nun investigating a mysterious death in Romania, confronting a sinister force along the way. It’s not exactly the kind of movie you’d expect a three-year-old to choose, but Mia’s grandma was up for the challenge. “During a sleepover, Mia was shown various movie posters, and despite being warned it wasn’t a cartoon, she insisted on watching it,” Sarah told HuffPost. Surprisingly, Mia sat through the entire film and continues to enjoy it on repeat.
After the party, Sarah shared some hilarious birthday snapshots on social media, catching the eye of Mia’s cousin, Lily Green. Lily decided to share them on Twitter, where they quickly went viral, even attracting attention from notable figures like Jordan Peele and, importantly, Bonnie Aarons, who portrays Valak in the film.
