Princess Amelia’s position in the line of succession remains unchanged, even with the arrival of a new prince in the royal family. This morning, the Duchess of Windsor welcomed her third child, another delightful prince to join his two royal siblings. While the excitement surrounding this event is immense, there is one significant detail that deserves attention: for the first time in history, a prince will not displace his older princess sister in the line of succession. As such, Princess Amelia retains her spot, nestled between her two princely brothers.
Current Line of Succession
Currently, the line of succession stands as follows, with the young Princess firmly in fourth place:
Thanks to legislation passed in Parliament in 2013, ahead of Prince Henry’s birth, Princess Amelia is securely fourth in line for the throne—a position that will not change due to any future younger brothers. The young princess began waving as soon as Edward took her out of the car and continued to greet the crowd until she was safely inside the Lindo Wing.
