One of the most rewarding aspects of parenting three children is the opportunity to carve out special moments with each one individually. While one-on-one time can certainly happen with just one or two kids, there’s something truly enchanting about the switch from the lively chaos of three to the serene atmosphere of just one.
Recently, I had the pleasure of spending an entire week with my son, Leo, during a spring break trip to London with my mother. As the youngest, Leo has always been easygoing; I recall a time when he was over the moon about receiving a new set of pajamas instead of his older brother’s hand-me-downs. “They match!!!” he exclaimed, much to the amusement of our family. With that in mind, I had high hopes for our London adventure, not only to enjoy the sights but also to escape the typical sibling rivalry. Thankfully, things turned out beyond my expectations.
Our time in London was filled with excitement as we attended performances of “Wicked” and “The Lion King,” indulged in too many petit fours at afternoon tea, and even squeezed in some shopping. Dealing with a single child’s complaints felt like a breeze compared to the usual symphony of whines from three.
Our Stay at The London Edition
One of the standout features of our trip was our stay at The London Edition. This stunning hotel is the result of a partnership between Ian Schrager, co-founder of Studio 54, and Marriott, blending five Georgian townhouses from 1835 into an elegant modern space. Walking into the lobby, Leo’s eyes lit up with delight as he declared, “This place is so cool!” I took note of the design for inspiration, especially the incredible bar area—definitely not over the top for my home.
The dining area was breathtaking, and I may have enjoyed two baths each day during our stay; the pristine white bathroom was far more appealing than my own. We were consistently greeted with warmth by the hotel staff, and each evening, a little surprise awaited us in our room. It’s the little things that count, and this hotel truly exceeded my expectations.
A memorable hotel experience can significantly enhance a trip, so my sincere gratitude goes to The London Edition for making our visit exceptional! We received a discounted rate for our stay, but all opinions shared here are entirely my own.
