Lane’s four-year-old possesses a unique artistic flair when it comes to beauty. Many mothers have experienced the colorful, albeit chaotic, results of letting their little ones do their makeup. However, few can match the creativity that Jenna Lane displayed when her daughter, Daisy, took the reins this weekend.
“This may just be the future of beauty,” Lane shared on Instagram. “Daisy might take over the industry one day with this masterpiece.”
While we haven’t witnessed Daisy’s previous creations, if they are anything like this latest endeavor, we’d love to hire her for all our upcoming occasions: the first day of school, parent-teacher meetings, and family gatherings, for instance.
Daisy opted for a lavender palette, applying it to her mom’s lips, eyes, and forehead. She accentuated the look with a bold blue streak, framing a striking smudge of black in the center of Lane’s forehead. Evie boldly adorned her mother’s nose with a line of brown dots. The most daring touch? Streaks of brown that seemed to originate from Lane’s nostrils and flow down to her upper lip, presenting a raw, unapologetic style.
To uplift the ensemble, Daisy brightened her mom’s look with a generous dab of white beneath one eye and two large splashes on the right side of her face, creating a fashion-forward yet unsettling aesthetic. A pop of green on Lane’s cheeks and a dash of red on the tip of her nose added to the festive flair. This combination of hues is sure to become our go-to “Christmas party” style! Of course, it was all topped off with a sprinkle of sparkle, predominantly on the right brow.
The brilliance of Daisy Lane is that just when you think she’s done, she surprises you with something extra: a whimsical blue and red tracheotomy necklace around her mother’s neck. We’d say, “we’ll take two,” but in this case, there’s only room for one.
Lane reminds us of the joy in letting go of expectations around neatness and “the right way” to apply makeup, encouraging parents to embrace the delightful messiness that comes with creativity. It’s essential—especially between mothers and daughters—to demonstrate a relaxed attitude about appearance and to show that makeup can be fun rather than a serious endeavor. Plus, it results in unforgettable photos!
Great job, Daisy! With the school year starting tomorrow, we’ll see you bright and early at 5 a.m. Don’t forget your sparkles! For more insights on parenting and home insemination, check out our privacy policy.
In summary, allowing children to express their creativity through makeup can lead to hilarious and memorable moments, highlighting the importance of relaxation and playfulness in parenting.
