Hey Moms, Happy Birth Day to You!

Hey Moms, Happy Birth Day to You!low cost IUI

Let’s take a moment to reminisce, shall we? Picture this: the day your little one entered the world. You’re feeling swollen and uncomfortable, whether your baby made their debut through your abdomen or the other way. Your body has just gone through a marathon of labor, but at that magical moment when your newborn is cradled in your arms, a wave of love washes over you—one that surpasses anything you thought you could ever feel. All the aches, the nausea, the time spent in preparation, and the tears suddenly seem entirely worth it. You lock eyes with your bundle of joy, fully aware of the significance of that moment, trying desperately to etch it into your memory forever.

And then, out of nowhere, you sneeze, and uh-oh—there goes a little pee.

Fast forward exactly one year, and you’re rejoicing over the anniversary of your pelvic floor’s demise—oops, I mean celebrating your precious child’s birth—with confetti, cake, and all the fanfare. Birthdays are incredible, and babies are a joy, but can we take a moment to appreciate the one who made it all happen?

I absolutely adore throwing birthday parties for my kids. Baking cakes, selecting gifts, decorating their spaces, and planning the festivities—it’s a labor of love that I relish. It’s a lot of work, but it’s rewarding, and I’d do anything to make their day special. However, wouldn’t it be nice to get a little acknowledgment for housing them rent-free in my belly for nine months? Just a thought.

Celebrating Every Mother’s Birth Day

Here’s my idea: How about we celebrate every mother’s Birth Day just a little? We don’t need a huge celebration—no cakes or massive parties. The spotlight should certainly remain on the birthday child. But dads, how about a heartfelt card for the mother of your child? Perhaps a beautiful flower? A casual high-five and a wink, along with a reminder that you appreciate how she bravely faced labor, despite the moments she might have yelled at you?

As your little one grows into a more interactive human, encourage them to thank Mommy for her role as the champion of birth and life.

Now, I can already hear some of you skeptics. Is this just a millennial’s cry for more recognition? Are you questioning why this woman on the internet is pushing for extra thanks when life is already overwhelming? Well, let me tell you, motherhood is a full-contact sport, and every mom deserves a bit of recognition for all the hard work. We’re all in this together.

Yes, we have Mother’s Day, but I’m not asking for an entirely new holiday. Although I could argue for a week or maybe even a month dedicated to moms—because really, we’re juggling a lot every single day. A little sprinkle of appreciation wouldn’t hurt, especially for the one who not only brought the birthday child into the world but is also probably doing most of the planning for the celebration.

Being a mom can often feel thankless, but a little gratitude here and there can make a world of difference. After all, if we’re willing to give everything for our kids, what’s a small token of appreciation in return?
