You may have heard that Target recently announced the discontinuation of several of its staple brands, including Merona and Mossimo (they will be missed!). However, their latest reveal might just win back our affection. The retail giant is launching an irresistibly cute collection of children’s clothing and accessories, featuring a fantastic selection of gender-neutral options.
Target is now the exclusive retailer for the Toca Boca line, which is perfect for the back-to-school season. This new collection marks a milestone for the company, offering a variety of products for kids, including clothing, accessories, sleepwear, backpacks, lunch bags, bedding, and even activity books.
Toca Boca stands for values such as diversity and inclusivity, and this collection reflects those ideals. With 38 gender-neutral apps already available, they have expanded to offer clothing that aligns with this philosophy. Parents often find it challenging to navigate the limited choices available when their daughters love pink and purple yet also adore dinosaurs and pirates. Similarly, boys’ clothing tends to stick to the traditional blue, brown, and green palette. This isn’t Target’s first venture into gender-neutral children’s items; they introduced a line of gender-neutral bedding by Pillowfort earlier this year.
Colors and themes like fire trucks, tool belts, glitter, and guitars are meant for everyone, irrespective of gender. Children should have the freedom to choose what resonates with them rather than be confined to gender-specific clothing sections. Some girls love bugs, while some boys (like my nephew) are huge fans of pink. Ultimately, kids should wear what brings them joy, period.
Toca Boca is celebrated for its digital toys, and this new line brings the playful and quirky elements from their award-winning Toca Life series into the physical world. “Everything we create at Toca Boca is intended for all kids; it’s our mission to ensure that no child feels left out,” said the new Head of Consumer Products for Toca Boca, Jenna Murphy.
Staying true to these values, the collection is designed with inclusivity in mind and will be merchandised together in Target stores, positioned between the boys’ and girls’ sections. While some items may lean slightly towards one gender or another, there are plenty of gender-neutral options available.
This delightful collection will be available in Target stores and online starting July 17, featuring sizes ranging from four to 16. Be sure to mark your calendars!

Summary: Target has launched a cute gender-neutral children’s collection in collaboration with Toca Boca, featuring clothing and accessories that promote inclusivity and diversity. The line aims to give kids the freedom to express themselves without being limited by traditional gender norms, available in various sizes starting July 17.
