Target is undergoing a significant brand transformation!

For those who love shopping at Target, you know its clothing section has always been a go-to for essentials. Whether you’re in search of a comfy tank top or a stylish yet supportive swimsuit, brands like Merona and Mossimo have always had your back. Unfortunately, that’s changing. In an effort to stay current with trends and compete with online giants like Amazon, Target is phasing out these beloved brands. Say goodbye to those cute and cozy t-shirts that were frequently on sale.

If you’ve been to Target recently, you may have noticed that the familiar inventory isn’t quite what it used to be, as some locations have already started to remove Merona and Mossimo items. This shift isn’t limited to just women’s apparel; the children’s department is also seeing changes. While the new Cat & Jack collection for kids is a hit, it means the loss of Circo and Cherokee lines, which offered quality and affordable choices for infants and children.

The silver lining in this wardrobe shakeup is that Target is introducing over a dozen new brands later this year, exclusively available in their stores. They’ve teased four of these new lines so far:

  • A fresh women’s clothing line named A New Day
  • A sleek men’s line called Goodfellow & Co
  • The trendy athleisure brand JoyLab
  • A home decor collection known as Project 62

Mark Tritton from Target explains, “Our new brands reflect the evolving needs and preferences of our guests. We recognized a gap in our current offerings and realized it was time to refresh our selections to ensure our guests continue to enjoy discovering new items at Target.”

While it’s always exciting to update your wardrobe, we can’t help but feel nostalgic about the classics. So, we’re rushing to Target to grab whatever remains of the Merona and Mossimo stock, just in case we want to stock up. And who knows, maybe we’ll get lucky and find some of those items on Cartwheel or even clearance.

In summary, while Target is bidding farewell to some of our favorite clothing lines, it’s also bringing in fresh brands that promise to meet the evolving tastes of shoppers. Keep an eye out for new arrivals while you still can catch the last remnants of the old favorites!
