Hey there, darling!

I’m thrilled you found a moment to connect during your business trip. Apologies for missing your earlier call; I was a bit preoccupied with the usual chaos. Just your average sibling rivalry, nothing too serious—no bloodshed this time! Thankfully, the kids decided to use every Band-Aid as a sticker while I was in the shower.

Exploring and Surviving

What’s that? You’ve wrapped up all your meetings already? Fantastic! You’re off to explore? I wish I could join you for some sightseeing adventures. Honestly, I think the only time I’ve stepped outside since you left was to drop off and pick up the kids from school. Oh, wait—yesterday was a different story. I had to brave the pouring rain to hit the store because one of them thought it’d be a good idea to pour his own cereal while I was busy changing a diaper. Let’s just say the last half-gallon of milk didn’t survive.

Hotel Views and Home Disasters

I did see the pictures you sent of your hotel room. It looks swanky! Those views are stunning. Meanwhile, outside our window this morning, we had a little disaster—our neighbor’s trash can blew over, and I didn’t realize how much junk they could fit in there. Yikes!

Is that giant hotel bed as cozy as it appears? I bet it feels a bit lonely without me there! I usually struggle to sleep when you’re away, but last night, I had a couple of kids and the dog snuggling with me, so I was far from alone. I only got kicked in the face twice, which is a win in my book!

Food Adventures

Oh, the photos of your business dinner looked scrumptious! I’d send you a pic of my dinner, but let’s be real: reheated pork roast doesn’t quite compare. The kids weren’t impressed either, so tonight, we’re diving into ramen noodles. At least our meals had one thing in common—wine! Though, yours probably didn’t come from a box.

Was that lobster and filet mignon on your plate? I couldn’t quite tell with all the candlelight reflecting off that fancy silverware. Speaking of fancy, I hope you were genuine about getting a new TV because ours has a crack thanks to the kids wrestling and knocking over my glasses.

Clothing and Chaos

Did your dress clothes survive the journey without getting wrinkled? I’m relieved I don’t have to worry about my clothing because the baby has apparently caught a stomach bug. I never knew so much could come from such a tiny person! It was all over my shoulder and down my arm. Thankfully, I don’t have to go anywhere—unless we run out of milk again!

You mentioned your meetings were a bit dull? Well, let’s see what’s new on my end. I’m all caught up on laundry! Well, it’s clean, at least. I still need to fold it. I had every intention, but then one of the kids came in distraught because he tried to make a bubble gum mustache and got it stuck in his hair. That was a fun 15 minutes.

More Adventures

Oh! I just caught the toddler attempting to put a screw in his ear. Good thing I was passing by! And let’s just say, the dog found my bag of pork rinds and they are now half-digested on the carpet. I have no clue how she got them; one of the kids must have given them to her while I was busy cleaning up the peppercorns someone dumped all over the kitchen floor. Everyone’s in on the mystery, of course.

So, you’re off for a day of sightseeing? I hope you have a wonderful time! I have an exciting afternoon lined up too. I think there’s a new episode of Paw Patrol on! Watching through a cracked screen isn’t ideal, but it’ll give me a solid 30 minutes to sort through the kids’ school folders before bath time.

Looking Forward

Guilt trip? Me? No way! Well, maybe a little. But I’m not going anywhere exciting unless you count trips to the store for milk. With all the kids. In the rain.

Looking forward to seeing you when you return. I know you’ll be longing for the luxury of home again! Love you!
