Dear Young Ones,

pregnant woman belly sexylow cost IUI

As a physician and a parent, I often find myself preoccupied with teaching you the essentials — like the importance of washing your hands and avoiding sharp objects — but there are other lessons that are equally crucial for your well-being that I inadvertently overlook. It’s time I share some wisdom that seems to be missing in your lives:

1. Naps are not a foe.

You should not view nap time as a battle. In fact, it’s something to cherish. Naps are beneficial; they are a gift. When I suggest you settle into your cozy bed for a midday snooze, I wholeheartedly mean it. You’re missing out on a golden opportunity when you resist nap time as if it’s a dreadful chore. Once you grasp that these guilt-free moments of rest are a luxury, perhaps you’ll greet the phrase “Let’s take a nap!” with a smile instead of a tantrum.

2. Personal grooming is a privilege.

Time and again, I face fierce opposition when it comes to clipping your nails, trimming your hair, or coaxing you into a soothing bath. Kids, these services are what grown-ups pay for at salons, yet you have your very own stylist available 24/7 — and it’s free! So, let’s make the most of these grooming sessions and enjoy them.

3. Laundry is a miracle.

You might think of laundry as some sort of magic trick. You toss your dirty clothes into the hamper, and poof! They come back clean and neatly folded. Please, take a moment to appreciate how extraordinary this is. The convenience of having a personal laundry service at home is something many would envy.

4. You have a chef at your service.

You don’t have to spend time planning meals or wondering what to eat. When you sit at the table, a delicious (and mostly nutritious) meal awaits you, all thanks to yours truly. I even take the time to cool it down to a safe temperature for you. Next time you’re complaining about the food, remember the effort that goes into providing those meals.

5. Transportation is hassle-free.

When was the last time you had to navigate through traffic or search for a parking spot? Oh, that’s right — you haven’t! Instead, you can enjoy the ride in the backseat, engrossed in your headphones or tablet, without a care in the world. Remember this luxury every time you arrive at your destination without having to lift a finger.

I hope this letter serves as a reminder to appreciate the many privileges you have right now. You are surrounded by comforts that many would dream of, and it’s essential to recognize that you have your own personal driver, chef, stylist, and laundry service. Don’t wait until you’re older and these amenities are a mere memory. Value them while you can — for those of us who once longed for the same.

With love,

Dr. Emily
