As a longtime fan of reality dating shows, I’ve followed the ups and downs of contestants since the very first season aired in 2002. I’m unashamed to admit that I revolve my schedule around The Bachelor. If you want to hang out on a Monday night, you better be ready to sit quietly and watch a single person navigate their way through a sea of romance and drama—preferably while sipping on a glass of wine or your beverage of choice. After all, who can resist the allure of dramatic confrontations, stunning locales, and eye-catching outfits?
In case you haven’t heard, the latest Bachelor is none other than Nick Viall, set to premiere on Monday, January 2 at 8/7c on ABC for its 21st season. I’ll be tuning in without a doubt. Even as a middle-aged woman with three kids, I can’t help but be captivated by his charm. I’ve been eagerly counting down the days until I can kick back on my couch, sans bra, sipping pinot noir through a straw while admiring him.
Nick is a sensitive soul with just the right amount of rugged appeal to keep me intrigued. He’s intelligent, an excellent writer, and his bold attitude—”I’m here to find love, and I don’t care what you think!”—is irresistibly attractive.
Throughout his previous appearances on the show, Nick has made his intentions clear: he’s in it to find his dream woman and start a family. He loves deeply and passionately, which only endears him to us more. During his first season, he openly expressed his intense feelings for Andi, the Bachelorette of season 10, but ultimately was heartbroken when she chose someone else. His heartfelt letter to her had women swooning worldwide.
In season 11, he made a surprise appearance to pursue Kaitlyn, and despite the drama it caused among the other contestants, he remained steadfast in his pursuit of her heart. Sadly, he again finished as runner-up. After a stint on Bachelor in Paradise, where he told Jen that she deserved someone better, fans were left wondering if he would ever find true love.
Now, with over 25 potential partners in front of him, will this be the season where he finally finds his match? Only time will tell. If he doesn’t find success in The Bachelor Mansion, I might have to suggest he broaden his search beyond reality TV and tropical getaways—perhaps even consider options like a cozy night on my sofa.

In summary, while it remains uncertain whether Nick Viall will find lasting love this season, the anticipation and excitement surrounding his journey are undeniable. As we settle in for another season of romance, one thing is for sure: I’ll be watching every moment unfold.
