My Resilient Child, I See You

My Resilient Child, I See Youlow cost IUI

November 25, 2023

To my spirited and determined child, I want you to know that I truly see you. You may believe you’re invisible during those exhausting evenings when picking up just one more toy feels like an insurmountable challenge, but I see you. I witness your struggles during those preschool tantrums when coloring another leaf seems like your very own Mount Everest. Even when you stand there, lips pursed and brows furrowed, ready to unleash a resounding “No! I refuse!” I am right there with you.

It might not appear that way as I sometimes find myself hovering, trying to manage the situation with a mix of frustration and authority. But when the chaos settles and you climb into my lap, snuggling close and whispering “I love you, Mommy,” everything I’ve observed becomes clear. You are indeed my strong-willed child, yet you embody so much more.

A Natural Leader

You are a natural leader. It’s evident in how your peers gravitate toward you in preschool. They watch your every move, eager to join in your games. Even when you make mistakes, pushing or hitting a friend, they forgive you swiftly and want nothing more than to play again.

As you grow, you and your companions will transition from little ones to teenagers, and eventually to adults, each stage presenting choices. Will you harness that fierce determination to guide others toward wise decisions, or will you lead them astray? Your strong will is a gift, akin to a superpower—use it wisely.

Creativity and Independence

Your creativity shines brightly, perhaps sometimes too vividly for your own good. When you hear “No,” your inquisitive mind interprets it as “Not that way.” If you can’t have that candy by asking politely, you’ll devise a plan to secure it independently, making sure I’m otherwise occupied before putting it into action.

With that innovative spirit, you are destined for greatness. When others doubt you saying “you can’t,” you will respond with “just watch me.” They say, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way,” but I believe, “Where there’s a strong will, there are countless ways.” I have no doubt you will uncover every possibility.

You exhibit a fierce independence, evident in your adamant refusals of help during bath time, brushing your teeth, and getting dressed—except, of course, when it comes to those moments you’d rather avoid, like cleaning up. Oh, the battles we wage over your desire to do everything on your own!

One day, this independence will propel you to great heights. You’ll achieve that promotion, earn that raise, and claim that bonus because when you set your sights on something, there is simply no other option for you. You’ll outwork everyone around you until you reach your goals. You, my dear, are a true fighter.

Nurturing Your Growth

As you continue to grow, I face the challenge of balancing the need to guide your strong will with the desire to foster your growth. My hope is to nurture that inner fire, directing it toward greatness rather than stifling it with excessive control. I pray you channel that determination to create positive change in our world. It only takes a bit of leadership, creativity, and independence to make a lasting impact.

You are a game changer, my little one. And even when you feel unseen, I am always watching.
