Just days prior, another headline-grabbing story emerged: 65-year-old Greta Müller is expecting quadruplets. Here’s what the media had to say:
“65-Year-Old Mother-to-Be of Quadruplets: ‘I’m Not Worried’” —NBC News
“65-year-old woman’s IVF pregnancy criticized as irresponsible and ill-advised” —The Observer
“65-year-old German woman pregnant with quadruplets—children number 14, 15, 16, and 17.” —Metro News
“How Old Is Too Old To Be a Mother?” —Mommy Magazine
There are, of course, stark contrasts between these two stories. Müller already has 13 children from five different partners, a detail emphasized in virtually every article about her. Interestingly, another famous musician, John Legend, also has several children with multiple partners; he welcomed his ninth child just last month and is also on the verge of turning 65.
And yes, it’s true that she faces the physical demands of childbirth while Billy Jordan can leave that experience to his much younger partner. Let’s not forget, they are only having one child. But the critical global reaction to Müller seems a bit excessive compared to the hearty congratulations given to Jordan. It makes you think—remember the story of Frank Collins? He became a first-time dad at 78.

In summary, the contrasting reactions to Billy Jordan and Greta Müller highlight societal views on age and parenthood. While one receives accolades, the other faces scrutiny. It’s a curious reflection on the perceptions of motherhood and fatherhood in contemporary society.
