As I fill out the necessary registration forms for kindergarten, my thoughts are with you. My little one, Lily, will soon step into your classroom, ready to embark on her journey into the “big school,” as she lovingly refers to it. While she is bursting with excitement, I find myself grappling with mixed emotions.

This transition marks a significant chapter in her life. While it fills me with nostalgia to see my baby growing up, I am equally proud of all the new experiences that await her. She will explore creativity in art class, discover the joy of music, and forge friendships within our community, potentially leading to more playdates. The self-confidence she will gain as she learns from you is invaluable.

Yet, I must confess, I worry. The thought of sending my heart out into the world, unaccompanied, is daunting. It’s a bittersweet feeling, and I know you will play an essential role in her life during these formative hours. With that in mind, I want to share a few insights about Lily.

Insights About Lily

When she says, “Please help you,” she genuinely means, “Please help me.” We’re working on her language skills. If she calls us by our first names, don’t be alarmed; we are her parents, but this is just a quirk of hers. If she seems hesitant about asking to use the bathroom, please encourage her to go. I’d hate for her to have an accident due to shyness. Though she may be quieter than others, she is observant and soaking in her surroundings. Please ensure she has someone to share lunch with; I want her to feel included. Remember, while she is one of many to you, she is my only daughter.

I realize your role is challenging, and it’s one of the most vital jobs out there. I will be entrusting you with my heart for over six hours each day starting in September. Thank you for your kindness and care.
