At the all-boys St. Joseph Preparatory School, a dedicated team of students has enlisted in a special volunteer initiative that allows them to serve as pallbearers for homeless veterans. This initiative is part of the Dignity Memorial Network’s Homeless Veterans Program, which ensures that veterans who lack family or resources receive the dignified farewell they deserve.
If a veteran passes away and their family cannot be located within 90 days, the program steps in to provide a casket. Traditionally, these veterans would not have a service or anyone to carry their casket, but these students are changing that narrative.
