How to Calculate Your IVF Due Date

An IVF pregnancy due date is an estimation of when your baby is expected to be born if you conceived via in vitro fertilization. The calculation is based on your IVF embryo transfer date. Most transfers occur either three days or five days after egg retrieval and fertilization, utilizing either fresh or frozen embryos (frozen embryo transfers are also known as FETs).

If you had a three-day embryo transfer, simply add 263 days to the transfer date to calculate your due date. Alternatively, take your transfer date, add 266 days (38 weeks), and then subtract three days. Or, select the “3-day transfer” option from our dropdown menu above.

For a five-day embryo transfer, the method is a bit different. Add 261 days to the transfer date to find your due date. You can also opt for the “5-day transfer” option in our calculator.
