Wait, what? My partner always tells me I look adorable in my sweatpants. Was that just a clever ploy to keep me from discovering he was secretly plotting a divorce? I clicked on the article, nearly spitting out my wine as I read: “You can’t wear sweatpants. Ladies, the number one cause of divorce in America? Sweatpants, no way!”
Alright, Jenna. I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt since I enjoyed your role in that rom-com and because your significant other is quite the catch. But I have some pressing questions. What type of sweatpants are we referring to here? Because mine are from a trendy activewear brand, so do they get a pass? Or do those rules only apply if you’re married to a Hollywood star or resemble a supermodel?
Also, just out of curiosity, what do you suggest we wear instead? Edible underwear? Leather bodysuits? Lacy nighties? Because I can only imagine the look on my kids’ faces if I strolled into the kitchen for dinner dressed like a pop star from the early 2000s. Note to self: Halloween 2023 idea!
And how sweet is Tyler, jumping on Twitter to clarify the situation, saying: “Clearly, the sweatpants comment was a joke. I’m in them right now. Yep, tweeting in sweatpants. Oops! Overshared! You win this round, Twitter.” What a hero! Who doesn’t love a partner ready to defend you like that? No wonder she feels pressured about her sweatpants! Oh wait. They’re not even married! So, quoting a classic film, “Why am I even taking advice from you? You’re a novice who can’t drive!” So, let the divorce rumors fly; I’m going to keep rocking my cozy gray sweatpants, hopefully with more regularity.
