Hello, everyone!

Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not sick, broken, or fragile. I’m pregnant!

I’m not delicate or overly dependent. No, I’m PREGNANT. I’m not incompetent or incapacitated. I AM STRONG AND PREGNANT.

I’m not some rare orchid or a princess in a tower. I’m engaged in a timeless act that’s as ancient and powerful as humanity itself. This is a natural state for my body, much like breathing or walking. Yet, some of you treat me like I’m a fragile vessel.

Can We Talk About the Rules?

And can we talk about all the ridiculous rules? No deli meats! No turkey, salami, or ham. Make sure that steak is well-done! Those eggs must be fully cooked, no runny yolks for you! No raw cookie dough, no unpasteurized goodies, and watch out for fish—nothing raw! And let’s not forget the “no stinky cheese” rule. Listeria! E-coli!

Oh, and coffee? Forget that! Well, maybe you can have one cup—just one, because two is simply outrageous! Why do we have to be so extreme? Honestly, I’m not going to harm myself or my baby by having a couple of cups of coffee on a tough day. And let’s be real, I might survive a glass of wine (but I’m a recovering alcoholic, so let’s not count that!).

Instead of imposing these absurd “rules” like “Thou shalt not eat lunch meat for ten months,” how about we just exercise common sense? Moderation, balance, you know?

The Lifting Nonsense

And then there’s the “don’t lift this” and “don’t exert yourself” nonsense. What am I, a delicate flower? Seriously? Don’t lift over 25 pounds? So, what am I supposed to do, leave my sleeping toddler in a hot car? That sounds like a brilliant plan!

When my toddler throws a tantrum, am I really going to just stand there and say, “Sorry, can’t pick you up, I’m pregnant”? I’d rather not leave groceries to rot in the car or abandon housework because I’m “not allowed” to do anything.

Some celebrities might be able to “consciously uncouple” from their responsibilities, but the rest of us on planet Earth have to keep living our lives. I can avoid overdoing it without turning into a hermit.

Women Have Always Been Strong

Let’s not forget that women have been doing this for eons! From working in fields to raising families, pregnant women have always been a force of nature. It’s not like women in the past said, “Oh, I can’t do anything; I’m with child.” No way! They kept going, churning butter and building lives.

Sure, I get it—we’ve learned a lot, but we’ve crossed the line from caution to sheer hysteria. This is ridiculous! Pregnant women are among the strongest individuals out there. Stop telling us we’re weak or that we need experts to manage us.

I appreciate the help when it’s necessary, but most of the time, I’m just fine. My body knows what it’s doing, and I trust myself. I’ve birthed a baby before, and I’ll do it again, all while nurturing and caring for my little one.

In Conclusion

So, while you chatter on with your well-meaning advice, I’ll be focused on my newborn, who understands me in a way you never could.

I’m not broken. I’m pregnant. And in just a few weeks, I’ll be welcoming my perfect baby into the world, one that I already know and love.
