A Portrait of Motherhood Through My Child’s Eyes

Tonight, my son Alex decided to take on the challenge of drawing my portrait. As I settled at the table, I watched him carefully observe every feature of my face, his concentration evident. It’s a delightful experience to see oneself reflected through the eyes of a child, and I eagerly anticipated the masterpiece he was about to create.

Finally, it was complete. The nose, the chin, the hair, the neck, the birthmark, the cheeks, and the teeth were all there. I couldn’t help but share the artwork on social media, and soon enough, friends began pointing out the striking resemblance to a certain well-known reality star’s mom. They were right—it was astonishing how much he had captured that likeness!

I must admit, it made me feel a bit better to embrace the humor in it. Children see us in ways we often overlook, and it’s a reminder that motherhood comes with its own unique set of challenges and joys.
