Not at all. Weight management is a straightforward process. While it’s not a walk in the park, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is crucial for both you and your child. Everyone is capable of it.

What’s your top tip for fostering a healthy body image in kids?

Avoid self-deprecating talk, and never criticize or judge others based on appearance.

Work-life balance can be a myth. Any hacks for managing both?

You’ve got to ditch the all-or-nothing mindset. Of course, we prioritize our kids because they can’t fend for themselves, but we also need to prioritize our own happiness and health. It sets a precedent for them! If we act like martyrs and neglect our wellbeing, they’ll learn to do the same. I advocate for carving out at least 12 hours a week just for yourself. That’s enough time for workouts, date nights, a manicure, or even a doctor’s appointment. Many women scoff at this as impossible, but with roughly 112 waking hours in a week, surely you can find 12 for yourself. If I can do it, trust me, anyone can.

Motherhood brings a ton of worries. What’s one thing you’ve learned isn’t worth the stress?

I see so many parents boasting about their kids’ accomplishments—first words at seven months, walking by nine months, etc. But let’s be real; my kids are just typical kids. They hit those milestones at a normal pace, and that’s perfectly fine! I wasn’t some child prodigy, and I turned out okay. My children will tackle life’s challenges at their own speed, and that’s all that matters.

When was the last time you used your kids as an excuse to get out of something?

Oh, just five minutes ago!

What’s the least amount of sleep you can function on?

Six hours. Honestly, I really need my sleep! I can’t function without it. But now that my kids are older, I’m finally getting a decent amount—though not as much as I’d like, of course.
