Meet two creative moms who turned their swim class friendship into a whimsical clothing line that turns little ones into adorable animals. These innovative ladies have named their venture after their kiddos—Olive & Vince.
“We decided to join forces to learn how to make kids’ clothing, and before long, my partner Tara had a brilliant vision that wouldn’t leave her mind: Olive & Vince,” Lila shared. “I was all in, and we quickly got our Etsy shop up and running.” Based in the UK, they ship their delightful creations worldwide. Just check out how irresistibly cute these coats are!
“Tara, the dreamer of our duo, came up with the genius idea of crafting coats with fox ears on the hood, a fuzzy fur front, and a fluffy tail,” Lila recounted. “As soon as I heard it, I knew we had a hit.” And indeed they did! Their Etsy shop has been buzzing ever since.
“I spent months perfecting the patterns, and by late summer 2015, we launched our Fox, Wolf, Ladybird, and Bumble Bee coats,” Lila explained. “They became an instant sensation, and when they went viral on social media, we were overwhelmed with orders and inquiries.”
If you’re hoping to snag one for Christmas, better act fast! These custom creations take about six weeks to whip up before shipping. “Every coat that leaves our hands is truly cherished, and that fills us with pride,” Lila said. “Since each piece is handmade and often takes most of a workday to complete, we pour a ton of love into every stitch.”
With two moms at the helm, you know the clothing is designed with kids’ comfort in mind. “Our goal is to create practical, comfy, and fuss-free outfits for toddlers,” the founders noted. “We believe beauty should never come at the cost of comfort, nor should it overlook practical challenges like dressing and undressing a wiggly toddler.” You won’t find any scratchy fabrics or restrictive designs here!
Since their launch, these amazing moms have expanded their collection to include bear, bunny, and cat coats, plus animal-themed capelet hoods. While every coat is made with love, Lila admits to a favorite. “I’d have to say Mr. Fox! He was our very first design and remains the most popular. I can’t help but take a moment to admire each one I make before sending it off,” she revealed. “He’s just so fabulous with that bright orange, fluffy white chest, and cute little ears!”
Naturally, with little ones of their own, the moms dress their kids in their latest styles. Lila shared, “My daughter rocked her fox coat last winter, and this year she’s all about the bunny coat if I can find the time to sew it up!”
