Hey everyone, let’s get real: every man out there has, at some point, peed in the shower. Your partner might deny it, but trust me, it’s a universal truth. This habit extends beyond just the shower; it includes oceans, pools, public fountains, and even random sinks. However, for now, let’s focus on the shower.

In the past, taking a quick pee in the shower was a breeze. The tub was pristine, toys were nonexistent, and it was just me, my thoughts, and the warm water. But over the last several years, that simple pleasure has been stripped away. (Unless I happen to be in a hotel or visiting friends, sorry to my buddies!)

Now, I’ve had to adjust my shower routine to include an extra step:

STEP 1: UNDRESS

STEP 2: PEE

STEP 3: SHOWER

See the dilemma? It used to just be:

STEP 1: UNDRESS

STEP 2: PEE/SHOWER

What caused this shift? Kids. Those little bundles of joy that come into the world all cute and cuddly but soon transform into little dream destroyers. Having kids has thrown a wrench in my shower routine and added an annoying step.

It’s nearly impossible to pee in the shower when the tub is overflowing with toys. We’ve got sticky letters, rubber duckies, bowls from the kitchen, dog toys, and anything else they can sneak in there. I once even found a pork chop in the bathtub! Over the years, I’ve tried to find a way to navigate around the toys, convincing myself that the water would wash them off, but I always end up talking myself out of it.

But this morning was different. When I stumbled into the bathroom, bleary-eyed, I noticed a miraculous sight: the tub was empty. My heart raced with excitement as I realized that I had a clear shot at my old routine—until I suddenly remembered that I had already peed before stepping into the shower. Another victory for the kids.

In summary, while kids can bring joy, they can also complicate our lives in unexpected ways, even in the simplest of tasks like showering.
