Being a mom, as my little one likes to say, is “a big job.” No one really prepared me for the whirlwind of motherhood; it’s truly a “learn as I go” experience. Yet, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Sure, I might joke about selling my kids on eBay to the highest bidder from time to time, but the thought of life without them? Absolutely devastating.
Who needs spontaneous nights out with friends or dining at the trendiest restaurants when you have the warm embrace of baby kisses and the comfort of cuddles from your little ones? Not me. {Ahem} Okay, I admit those outings still happen, but they’re far less frequent now that I’m managing a household that resembles a zoo.
When I embraced motherhood, I discovered the profound love that comes with it—real, unconditional, and unwavering love. My own upbringing was a bit unconventional; my parents often prioritized their social lives over family. My brother and I were raised with help from a variety of people, a “village” if you will, but that didn’t quite fill the void left by absent parents.
