As you approach your 6th birthday, I find myself wanting to preserve this moment in time, as you embody such a Tender Heart. It’s important to recognize that your kindness and sensitivity are often misinterpreted as weaknesses in boys. The empathy you show and the tears you shed are sometimes labeled as “girl-like.” Always remember: these traits are not shortcomings, and you should never let anyone make you feel inferior because of them.
Lessons on Respect
There are vital lessons I wish to share with you about how to treat girls. If I could wish for one thing, it would be for you to regard every girl in your life with the same reverence and respect that you show towards me. I admire how you see the world filled with optimism and hope. As you grow, promise me that you will always approach girls first with your heart and then with your eyes. Understand who they are at their core—their thoughts, emotions, and essence. Respect their autonomy; they have full control over their bodies.
Be a Voice for Change
Be a voice against those who objectify girls. Demonstrate to them that boys can be compassionate and gentle. Teach others that girls are equals in every sense—mentally and physically. Encourage the girls around you to focus on the positive and to disregard negativity. Use your exceptional ability to connect with others as a means to inspire change within your community. Always keep in mind the important lessons your father has shared about respecting girls, as he exemplifies standing up for equality.
Embrace Your Sensitivity
Life can be challenging for a sensitive boy, but don’t allow the majority to dictate your identity. You possess a unique strength within your gentle spirit. Guide others towards becoming their best selves.
